Methodology

How Caesar AI Regulation Watch curates pilot data and what this preview site represents.

Official-source-first

Primary truth for every law, guidance, and change record is the registered official URL on the relevant authority or legislature site. This preview summarises metadata to support governance review — it does not replace reading official sources.

Source credibility

Each source in the registry carries a credibility tier:

Manual sample records (v0.4.x)

Law, guidance, and change entries in the pilot are manual samples with record_origin: manual_sample. They validate the data model and site — they are not automated watcher output. Sample dates and summaries may be fictionalised for schema testing.

Review status workflow

Curated content uses a review lifecycle:

Human review is required before using any record in client work, consulting memos, or compliance claims — even when marked reviewed.

Future watchers (not implemented)

A future phase will monitor approved RSS/HTML sources and produce record_origin: future_watcher_output change records. Watchers will respect rate limits, robots.txt, and hub approval. Until then, the change feed shows manual samples only.

Global coverage map (v0.5.1)

The coverage map uses a static SVG projection from manually curated latitude/longitude fields in jurisdiction YAML. Markers are display aids only — they do not represent legal territorial boundaries, sovereignty claims, or complete geographic coverage. No remote map tiles are loaded.

Human review queue (v0.5.1)

The review queue lists items with review_status other than reviewed, plus timeline events not verified on source. It is read-only — it does not update YAML, mark items reviewed, or replace qualified legal review.

Coverage limits

The registry covers a curated subset of global official sources starting from EU/Norway. We do not claim complete global legal coverage, exhaustive instrument lists, or up-to-date status without verification on official sites.

Control and evidence mapping

Export samples link regulatory changes to draft regulation_watch.control.* and regulation_watch.evidence.* references. These are alignment drafts pending caesar-ai-evidence — they do not create client evidence automatically.
